Diablo is a long-running isometric dungeon crawler franchise developed by Blizzard. The series is made up of three core games: Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo III.
Will there be a Diablo IV?
Things had been a little rough for Blizzard since the suspension of a pro Hearthstone player who declared support for the Hong Kong’s protest movement. Blizzcon 2019 presented an opportunity to turn the public opinion around, which Blizzard took by announcing one of its biggest weapons: Diablo 4, the sequel to the action role-playing hack and slash dungeon crawler video game series.
This cinematic trailer was published with the announcement:
Diablo IV Release Date
While Blizzard con confirmed the game’s existence, it did not announce a Diablo 4 release date. When asked about the Diablo 4 launch date, game director Luis Barriga said that “a game of this scope takes time” and that the game wouldn’t be “coming out soon –not even Blizzard Soon™“.
If history is any indicator, we have a bit of a wait on our hands. Diablo 3 was announced in 2008 but was not released until 2012 –making it four years of development. But after waiting for 12 years since the previous release, if anything is certain is that the patience of Diablo’s fans is legendary. We suspect the wait will be worth it this time.
Diablo | I | II | III | IV |
Release date | December 31, 1996 | June 29, 2000 | May 15, 2012 | 2021? |
While others are optimistic and predict a release date in 2020, here at Dateleak we believe a reasonable date for Diablo 4 would be late 2021. There is little to no chance the game will come out before the release of the next-gen consoles, which is expected by the end of 2020. We also have predictions on the release dates for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
